If you’re a fan of fantasy that blends enemies-to-lovers romance with magical trials and high-stakes drama, Immortal Consequences might just be your next favorite read.
I’ll be honest, the beginning felt a little slow and slightly confusing. The world is introduced mainly through conversations between a new student and an older one, and while this helps set the stage, I found myself wishing for a more immersive world-building experience. Instead of being dropped directly into the setting, you’re given pieces of information through dialogue, which may not immediately draw every reader in. On top of that, the story is told from multiple points of view, which sometimes made it harder for me to fully connect with all the characters.
That said, once the narrative shifts and the trials begin, everything changes. The pace quickens, the stakes grow higher, and the book becomes much more engaging. The challenges are intense, creative, and full of tension, and this is where the story really shines. The enemies-to-lovers element adds another layer of intrigue, sparking both conflict and chemistry that make you want to keep turning the pages.
By the time I reached the final chapters, I was completely invested. The slow start felt like a distant memory compared to the momentum and excitement the book had built up. The mix of danger, secrets, and romantic tension leaves you with just enough answers to feel satisfied but plenty of questions to eagerly anticipate the sequel.
So, while Immortal Consequences might take a little patience at the beginning, it’s absolutely worth sticking with. If you enjoy fantasy worlds full of trials, shifting alliances, and a romance that burns beneath the surface, this is a series you’ll want to follow. I, for once, can’t wait to see what comes next.
