It is well known that the best way to celebrate Autumn and Halloween during October is to read books with the same aesthetic: spooky stories with murders, full of mystery and killers are of course on the TBR list, but I surely prefer the so called „romantasy“ - romantic stories with a lot of fantasy.
What I am currently reading this Autumn is the Tik Tok famous book of Saara El-Arifi „Faebound“. I read that for the #magicaloctoberchallenge / #magicoctoberbook by @booktopiagr.
After a long period of reading „Katabasis“ -which I loved- I decided to read one more booktok favourite, in order to see what’s the big deal about it. Is it worth the hype?
And boy… it is really good!
It is so good that I decided to write the presentation in the meantime, even though I haven't finished it yet!
As it is written in the cover, this books is „a romantic fantasy of epic proportions, crackling with magic and passion“. I couldn’t agree more with that statement, as this book beginns from the first pages with battles, strong love stories and a well written fantastic world, which we are digging into, as we read it.

Many reviews praise the imaginative, visually rich fantasy world, inspired in part by African mythology. The settings (especially the Fae realms) and magical elements are seen as fresh, vibrant, and evocative. I really enjoy the dynamic between the two sisters (Yeeran and Lettle), which is often highlighted, especially how their different personalities complement each other.
