This is a truly beautiful story about three generations of witches, whose lives are intertwined in a way that feels both natural and magical. What makes the narrative so engaging is the harmony with which the author connects these three women, even though they belong to completely different eras. Each woman carries the weight and wisdom of her own time, yet together their stories highlight how much unites them despite the years that separate them.
The book explores not only magic and legacy, but also the universal struggles of women through the centuries. Emilia Hart, gently but powerfully touches upon the role of women in different historical periods, reminding us that although progress has been made, some challenges remain surprisingly the same. Gender inequality, social judgment, and the pressure to conform to expectations are recurring themes, and through the witches’ stories, we are reminded of the resilience and strength required to face them. At the same time, the novel celebrates the bonds between women—the way solidarity, shared knowledge, and unconditional support can help them endure hardships and even turn them into sources of power.
Another aspect I deeply appreciated was the vivid imagery of nature scattered throughout the book. The author has a gift for description; the forests, rivers, and skies come alive in such detail that you can almost feel the wind or smell the earth after the rain. Yet these passages never feel heavy or overwhelming. Instead, they enrich the story and create an atmosphere that mirrors the magical undertones of the witches’ world.
In the end, the novel is more than just a tale of witches—it is a reflection on womanhood, strength, and the ties that bind generations together. It leaves the reader with both wonder and admiration, lingering long after the last page.
