The final book of the trilogy is without a doubt my favorite! From the very first pages, it delivers exactly what I had been waiting for: action. The story opens with an intense battle against the dark wielders and their dragons, filled with powerful magic, brutal hand-to-hand combat, devastating losses, and hard-won victories. It immediately pulls you in and refuses to let go. The pacing is relentless, and the tension never truly fades. Every chapter leaves you holding your breath, wondering who will survive and what sacrifice will be required next.
Violet makes the bold decision to embark on a dangerous mission to the distant southern isles. Her goal is multifaceted and urgent: she seeks information about Andarna’s mysterious seventh breed, hoping that the truth about it may change everything they know about dragons. At the same time, she is desperately searching for a cure for Xaden, who is slowly transforming into venin. Watching his gradual change is heartbreaking, adding an emotional weight that runs parallel to the physical battles. The stakes feel deeply personal as well as global.
Beyond these goals, Violet also hopes to secure potential allies for the looming war threatening the Continent. The sense of an approaching large-scale conflict casts a shadow over every decision, every alliance, and every risk taken. Political tensions, fragile loyalties, and hidden agendas make the journey even more dangerous than the battles themselves.
And then comes the ending. It absolutely devastates us as readers. The final hundred pages, in particular, leave you in complete shock. Twists unfold rapidly, emotions run high, and just when you think you understand where the story is heading, everything shifts. It is the kind of ending that leaves you staring at the last page in disbelief.
Now we are left waiting—most likely for two long years—before we can return to this extraordinary world. Until then, we count down the days for our return to the realm of magic and dragons, knowing that the next chapter will surely test our hearts all over again.
